It handles all stages of watch production, from initial design to in-house development, final assembly and quality control. The brand produces 29 Manufacture calibers, and plans to expand its production capacity with a 6,200 m² factory extension in June 2019.

Peter and Aletta Stas, the founding couple of Frédérique Constant, created the brand in 1988 with the aim of offering high-quality Swiss watches at a more affordable price. Their vision: to democratize the pleasure of luxury. In 2015, Frédérique Constant pioneered the first Swiss Horological Smartwatch powered by MMT SwissConnect, a connected watch displaying the time in full analog mode on a classic dial. This was a completely new category of watch in the Swiss watchmaking sector. In 2018, the brand launched a new-generation smartwatch, dubbed Hybrid Manufacture, which combines mechanical watchmaking with a high-tech module and integrated caliber analysis system, breaking with the traditional vision of watchmaking. By joining the Japanese Citizen Group in 2016, Frédérique Constant saw the opportunity to develop and market accessible luxury watches that are part of the 21st century.
