Aftercare Following Piercing

A few simple steps can help promote proper healing and reduce the risk of infection. Our staff will provide you with all the necessary recommendations during the piercing and are available to offer advice.

After piercing the earlobe

• Keep the piercing studs in for 6 weeks.
• Clean the piercing 1 to 2 times a day with an antiseptic lotion and a non-woven pad, following your jeweler’s advice.
• Be sure to rinse the area thoroughly after showering or shampooing.
• For the first 6 months, avoid going more than 24 hours without wearing earrings.

After drilling through the cartilage

• Keep the piercing jewelry in place for 12 weeks; do not remove it until the piercing has fully healed.
• Clean the piercing 1 to 2 times a day with an antiseptic lotion and a non-woven pad.
• Avoid touching the jewelry except when cleaning it, and avoid sleeping on the pierced ear during the first few weeks.
• For the first 12 months, choose lightweight earrings with posts made of surgical steel or a hypoallergenic material.
